Online Career Practice Training for the YWCA Metro Vancouver

The COVID-19 pandemic sped up our industry’s transition to online and blended service delivery. The focus of this YWCA training was to show how to engage and motivate clients in an online or blended services setting.

In 2021, we created custom training for their career practitioners that was delivered online over a three-month period. Practitioners used our learning platform to interact with content and activities and participated in live sessions with their peers and our team to expand their learning. This practical and highly applicable training showed learners how to approach every interaction, both face-to-face and technology-based, with a clear client-centred purpose. They delved into concepts such as multimodal career learning, sustainable services, creating presence and connection, and communication strategies across all channels.
