Learning & Labour Market Information Symposium – Quebec
Tannis Goddard was invited to participate in the 2016 Learning & Labour Market Information Symposium hosted by Employment and Social Development Canada in Quebec, Canada. The event brought together industry experts with representatives from federal, provincial, and territories of Canada to discuss best practices for collecting, producing, and disseminating LLMI to students in Canada.
Tannis’s participation along with other industry leaders helped advance ideas, communicate lessons learned from other countries, and identify key areas for improvement. She was asked to present to attendees specifically on best practices in LI and LMI tool development. She offered a critical review of LI and LMI tools and career websites, from a practitioner perspective through a presentation titled – New Generation of LI & LMI Tools in Canada: Practitioner View. The goal of her presentation was to inform attendees about how governments can better leverage information and communication technology to improve how they offer life and career planning advice online.
